Mission to Mars; Magazine Image

Another image has been released from the upcoming movie MISSION TO MARS (M2M). This image comes from the latest (October) issue of Premiere Magazine. My guess is that the photo depicts the crew of the first Mission to Mars on it's ill fated trip to Mars.

The article also contains the following information (which I have condensed below):

In May, the actors of MISSION TO MARS watched the launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery in Florida.

Both Mars movies, M2M and RED PLANET, tried to cast Meg Ryan for their own particular movie.

Both productions will use locations near the Canary Islands to double for Mars.

RED PLANET cannot use the NASA logo over a controversial murder scene in the movie.

M2M is set in the year 2020, while RED PLANET is set in the year 2050.

RED PLANET is going to try to beat M2M into the theaters before the March 10th release date of M2M.

I find the last little tidbit of information a little hard to swallow in that M2M began filming in August while RED PLANET doesn't start filming till October. It doesn't make sense that RED PLANET could possible come out BEFORE M2M in that it starts filming AFTER M2M. 9/20/1999
