Dangerous Universe; One Year of Madness

What has come before

Dangerous Universe has two "birthdays". The initial concept of the site and the site launch. The concept for Dangerous Universe came about one cold December night back in 1997. The name of the site was to be "Dangerous Galaxy", which changed to Dangerous Universe only days later, with an emphasis on the most dangerous species in the galaxy. Included in this first Macromedia Director™ project were things like the "Bugs" from Starship Troopers, the Aliens from Aliens and the Predator. This project was finished in a few months of class work and turned in for a grade.

In late April, I discovered that I could post a site for free at GeoCities, then offering a whopping five Megs of space for a web-site, I immediately transformed the Director project into a web-site and uploaded it onto GeoCities server. The date was May 8th, 1997. I was the second person in my class of students to have their own web-site.
