10"
x 15 1/2" on illustration board
This is the original one of a kind acrylic painting
done for the cover of the Bronze Gazette issue number 28. The
story the illustration was painted for, "The Box of Fear",
was based on one of the radio plays written by Lester Dent in
the 1930's. The illustration actually replaced the usual masthead/cover
of the Gazette to look like it's its own booklet rather than
the Gazette.
This is a beautiful piece from noted Doc Savage
fan-artist Tim Faurote. Painted on very thick Crescent Illustration
Board, this piece is in immaculate condition. The colors are
as bright and vibrant today as they were when Faurote put paint
to board back in 1999. I would rate the condition this piece
is in as 4.8 out of 5.
There is writing across an unpainted swath at
the top of the board that reads, "Box of Fear, Bronze Gazette
8/99" and more. This illustration comes signed by the artist.
