Michael Rorrer said his great aunt once mentioned having comic books she would one day give him and his brother, but it was a passing remark made when they were boys and still into superheroes.
Ruby Wright gave no indication at the time — and she died last February, leaving it unclear — that her late husband’s comic collection contained some of the most prized issues ever published. The 345 comics were slated to sell at auction in New York on Wednesday, and were expected to fetch more than $2 million.

That first episode was produced, but “He Walked Among Us” – at Spinrad’s urging — went un-purchased and unproduced. And then the teleplay, along with that Captain’s Log, went missing… for 45 years.
“Community” finally has a new home on NBC’s schedule… and it’s the old home. NBC just announced that the comedy will be returning on Thursday, March 15, at 8 p.m. — the exact timeslot it was exiled from earlier this season as part of NBC’s mid-season shuffle.
Most of the time, if a network orders a pilot to series, that show is given a chance to prove itself, even if it only gets a summer burn-off run. Every so often, however, a network orders a pilot to series then seems to immediately lose faith in it, often for no apparent reason, leaving several episodes produced, never to be seen by audiences.
