Blast from the Past: Classic Movie Reviews
By Matt Alexander

Big Trouble in Little China: Another John Carpenter film, Big Trouble in Little China was one of the first action packed films in the 80's to include martial arts from such an amazing culture as China. Yes I know that there was Karate Kid, TMNT pandemonium, and a dozen Jean Claude Van Dam films, but this movie was always a favorite film of my brother and I.

Jaws: With the Memorial Day weekend come and gone I was able to catch some great movies on TV that are only shown every once and a while. My favorite Spielberg film besides the Indiana Jones series, Jaws is the perfect summer holiday Horror film.

Blade Runner: A movie that came out one month after I was born and to this day still is considered the one movie that was made before its time. A Ridley Scott film based on the Philip K. Dick novel, Blade Runner is the ultimate futuristic Sci-Fi film.

The Road Warrior: Probably my favorite Mel Gibson movie and the most popular movie of the series, The Road Warrior stands alone in movie history. It was one of the very first films to have the idea of a post-appocolyptic world and what might happen if we all decided to nuke the hell out of each other.

The Thing: Its become that time of the year where movies that come out in the theaters are not appealing anymore. Sure 300 was amazing and I am looking forward to seeing Grindhouse and Hot Fuzz, but there are some movies out now that make you say "How did this get the ok?". (Who really wants to watch another Fast and Furious rip-off.) This is the time of the year where I open the DVD vault and watch some of the best movies, in my eyes, ever made.
